Google recently implemented an improved password authentication system called OUATH2, so we’ve implemented this in a new version of Mailwasher which is due to come out in a week – it’s a free update and means you can add a Gmail account without getting this message. Without OAUTH2 you get this notification to enable for ‘less secure apps’ for all email programs (outlook etc) when adding a Gmail account as it’s the way password authentication has always been done – Gmail just chose an unfortunate label for it.
